Sail Date: Mar 2016

In March of 2016, I took a one week cruise on the Celebrity Reflection with my 18 year old daughter. The cruise was very appealing because it included direct airfare from our home city, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We were flown directly to Miami and then bussed to the port. For the most part, it was a nice cruise.

We visited Cozumel, Jamaica and the Grand Cayman Islands. In Cozumel, we went on the 3 reef snorkel and loved it. In Jamaica, we climbed Dunn's Falls and in the Grand Cayman Islands, we swam with the dolphins.

However, as part of the packages being sold to Canadians, an unlimited drink card is being included for the week that includes both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. If you are travelling with someone under the age of 21, Celebrity automatically switches the classic beverage package valued at approximately $500 for the week to an inexpensive soda package valued at about $150. If your child would like a smoothie or premium juice, they are not included in the soda package. You will still be paying extra for these drinks even though the fare you paid at time of booking included the more expensive drink card. Celebrity does not seem to care that they are misleading and overcharging Canadians traveling with children. They say they have no way of providing a nonalcoholic version of the card included with the actual package.
