Terrific itinerary to PNG to places hard to get to any other way. Doini Island particularly memorable with spectacular snorkelling almost onshore for nervous swimmers. Solomons always interesting....hire a local taxi rather than an expensive shore excursion. Vanuatu a surprise substitution for Loganville.
Shore excursions were as expensive as if we were cruising the Mediterranean and visiting cathedrals and museums. Also Princess need to review their policy of not carrying Png currency on board urgently.Travellers were paying locals in Australian dollars which they cannot cash in in remote islands. This is Not helping local economies.
The vessel stank of sewerage through the air conditioning for most of the trip. This necessitated keeping the balcony door open.
Quite a small cabin with a very cramped balcony, barely room for the chairs. Most days we had the external dirty gantry tied up beside the balcony. However the main problem was the ever present sewerage smell in the air conditioning which meant having to leave the balcony door open in the tropics.
snorkelling,snorkelling and more snorkelling!
