I have to say I really disappointed right from the beginning of this cruise. If you can at all please avoid going out of Charleston. From the time we arrived in the parking lot to the time we got to our room it took over 3 hours. Getting off the ship was hassle as well. They are not built to properly handle cruisers and that's not Carnival's fault, but they should still think more of their customers and stop going out of there.
The ship was smaller than I am used to so I could feel the waves a lot more. The entertainment was fun and good as usual. Of course it's a lot of trivia, bingo, comedy, and shows. You can have a good experience if you make the most of your time. The cruise director Benjamin was great! The food, that was another thing entirely. This had to be the worse experience I've had with dining. The dinners were not good and most nights we ended up with pizza. Brunch was really good and the food on the Lido deck as well. It was just the dining room that gave us trouble.
Service was okay but not to the Carnival standards I'm used to. Our room staff was nice but some of the workers around the ship had attitudes about you asking them questions. We were also late getting to ports and then because of weather had to miss out on one. I'm just glad this wasn't my first cruise I don't think I would love it as much if it had been.
Cabin was nice oceanview, it was annoying that the windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them most of the time.
Horrible coming and going. They really need to let Carnival build a proper terminal.
We went on an excursion to a private beach. It was beautiful great food and drinks. Be prepared to get harassed about massages and buying one of their villas.
Very nice port! Beautiful beach we you get off the ship, but it is public so the locals are interrupting your view asking you to purchase things.
