Sail Date: Apr 2016
Cabin: Deluxe Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We were sailing from April 8 to 18, 2016. The cruise was largely dissapointing. The main complaint is that everything was difficult. We are supposed to be pampered, isn't it a cruise idea? But, even before the cruise I spent about 3.5 hrs. just registering, answering all kinds of silly questions & booking restaurants & shows. And after all they managed to send me wrong cabin number, so on the 1st night on the way to dinner (in our travel clothes) at about 6 p.m. we stumbled upon luggage handlers with our suitcases on the wrong floor!!

Everything must be fought for: desirable restaurant at the time of your preference, show & so on. After all if you get it, isn't it a cause for hapiness? We ended up seeing only half of SPECTRE (show) and that with obstructed view, did not get to CABARET at all. In the evenings instead of dancing on the main deck was constant flee market. I love to dance but, going at 10 or 11 p.m. to the upper deck for deafening disco is not my idea of dancing. Food was edible & that's about it. In the 1st 4 or 5 days smocked salmon at breakfast/lunch buffet was not freely available (only if you ask a waiter for a special favour). Fresh berries were never on display. In the sit down restaurants in the evenings the food was created by the cheffs who never ate anywhere but their kitchen. For example sushi were served without soy souse ot wasabi. Soy souse we requested & received, as for wasabi: turns out we needed to order it ahaid of time. They had no idea what it is. Also, the dinner menues are the same for 4 days. Probably this way they can serve yesterdays leftovers. Actually on our 1st night grilled solmon was spoiled. After that I never ordered solmon for dinner for the duration of a cruise. At one point I had a helping of lasagnia. It waas not spicy but, definitely had some foreign spices in it. I live & work in Italian area: never had this kind of lasagnia (and I do not mean it as a compliment). Everywhere on the ship was shortage of places. In the cafeteria once in a while there was an anouncement for people not linger & let other people to take place. Arount the pools they had a rool: if no one is around for 1/2 hr. the towel or other belongings would be removed. Reminded me old Russian adage: slip faster we need a pillow. Again: everythin should be difficault to obtain & fought for. There were no chairs around the pools, only lounges & they were so close to each other that one needed to crawl on it. No room for small tables between the lounges (they did not have them anyway). I used to love cruising but, after this one I will abstain for a few years or until i read good reviews.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Nice shopping.

St. Thomas

Just went streght to the beach ( it was excellent)

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

i was in S.Kitts exactly 30 yrs. ago in Jaktar Willage. We went to the same beach. But, it was a dissapointment: They had a hurricane 2 yrs. ago and still did not completely recover. They are doing it all wrong: spread some sand on the beach and it gets washed away into the sea. They need to built wave breaker first, then dredge the ares close to the shore from stones & after that put some sand.

St. Maarten

excellent beach

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We've been to N.J. before, have relatives there so, no need for excursions.
