We absolutely loved this cruise from start to finish. The boat was spectacular, in decor, size and variety of bars and restaurants onboard. We boarded in Barcelona and it only took about an hour to go through the entire process. Our room was really big, much bigger than expected (about the same size as a hotel bedroom) with a spacious balcony too. The bathroom was small but still bigger than we both expected. The food in the buffet was so varied, you literally would not go hungry. The only thing was by the time you had chosen some items, found a seat and sat down, the food was lukewarm. By the middle of the cruise we got smart and found our seats first, knew what food we liked and worked from there! The restaurant at night was lovely. Unfortunately we didn't get a table for 2 but in hindsight that was the best thing as we made great friends at our table and had a really fun week with them. Our waiter was lovely and food was always good in the restaurant. We ate in the steakhouse on one evening and it was fab - order the Tbone, best I've had in a long time!

The ports on our cruise were very good, however we didn't do any of the MSC organised tours as they were very expensive. We did them ourselves and for half the price or less. If you look into what you want to see yourself before you go and plan your day well you will see everything you want and no need to go with a tour.

The pools were fab on board and always plenty of space to sunbathe. As we went early in the season the pools were cold but I am sure if it was later in the year and the weather was warmer more people would be swimming.

Port Reviews

We stayed in Barcelona for a few days, loads to do and see. Did the hop on hop off bus and found it was a good way to see the city.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Again didn't do a ship organised excursion. Walked around Ajaccio and it took a few hours. Fab city but not much to do.

Went to Capri for the day - organised ourselves rather than go with the ship and it was fab. I would love to go back for a holiday!

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Amazing, did our own tour of the Cinque Terre by boat and loved it. So interesting and beautiful

We went to Portofino this day (organised ourselves) and it was my favourite stop. The place is just so beautiful

We went to Monaco this day (privately) and it was great to see. Pity we did not have more time as we only got to see the city for 1 hour.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Palma is a lovely city. The stop here was for almost a whole day so we didn't get off the boat until the evening.
