First time on Britannia and was really looking forward to this ship. Embarkation was not good although we arrived at the port in plenty of time for my allocated book in time I had to join a queue in the car park . Was late due to this although at the reception desk boarding on the ship was quick and efficient.

On board the access to all parts of the ship was terrible . Small lifts if there was a wheelchair in the lift there was only room for about 6 people . No staircases for quick access so there were more queues and waiting for the lifts. Not sure what would happen in an emergency . There is no promenade deck so that walking around the ship was an ordeal . Smokers complained that there were only 2 smoking areas on board .

i had freedom dining for the first time on p&o which seemed quite a good idea at first . The service was terrible and had to wait an hour for the main course on the first night which did not improve much for the rest of the cruise. The service was not as good as on other p&o ships. The first port of call was La Rochelle which involved a queue the length of the ship for the shuttles More queuing and waiting .
