My wife and I just returned from a 7-night cruise on RCI on Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston. We have only taken one cruise before - it was last year out of Rome, Italy on Celebrity. To be honest, we came in with low expectations as we expected the ship to not be as nice as Celebrity; it was just an easier trip b/c we could drive to the port in 3 hrs from our house.

We were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience - food was good to great; service was great; and the ship was in overall good condition. Our stateroom attendant was really friendly and efficient (he even folded the clothes we left on the floor). The Specialty Dining restaurants were above avg and we had no problem eating at the times we wanted. We had the premium drink package and they are not stingy with the alcohol - drinks are definitely not watered down. It was kinda fun to sit by the pool and waiters came by all the time with trays of pina coladas; miami vice's, etc and even with a bottle of dark rum to top your drink off.

This ship is perfect for both families as well as couples as there is a kids-only pool with slides, tubes, etc as well as a main pool. My wife and I were traveling with another couple (that we met on the Celebrity cruise last year), and overall we were very happy with the cruise and will definitely be back on RCI.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin G

Cabin was actually bigger than I expected - comfortable bed and a couch with a table. The bathroom was tight - only one person at a time.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We went to Margaritaville and it was kinda a disappointment - thought we could do some snorkeling, beach activities but it's really just a touristy-restaurant.

Roatan

We did walk off the boat and checked out the little port - mostly souvenir shops and small bars.
