This Cruise was Terrible from pretty much start to finish. The time spent in the queue to embark the boat was ridiculous, over 60 mins (felt much longer) The cruise line know in advance exactly how many people are arriving at Barcelona to board yet the facilities and processing is very very slow with the assistant leaving the desk multiple times whilst serving me to collect items / print outs.

The Cabin was roomy but the bed and bedding was very poor and felt like something you'd be made to sleep on in a prison. For a luxury room, the bedding felt very shabby and cheap. The unlimited Internet package which I pre paid prior to boarding(circa $209 addition) was very limited and rarely worked when out of port. The little internet I got was slow and required repeated connection attempts. Interestingly you are not told until you'd boarded that its not designed for Facetime, media streaming or anything other than downloading text based emails very slowly. I think a better description for it would be Anytime Internet allowing you the ability to try and connect any time.

The inclusive food on board was very plain and average. If you paid extra for food in one of the on board restaurants, then you'd also be left disappointed at the under-cooked and tasteless steaks on offer. If you don't have the unlimited drinks package then brace yourselves for an expensive bottle of corona coming in at over $10 per bottle (I don't think they charge extra for the slice of lime). Service from the cabin staff was great and knowing how little they earn on this slave ship, I gave mine a tip and left him two bottles of wine to say thank you. Service elsewhere wasn't always with a smile. Entertainment on board is too repetitive such that if you've seen it one night, you don't want to see it again a further 2 nights and the TV in the room is very limited on content.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MX

Nice wardrobes but poor bed and bedding, not luxury at all.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Lengthy queue to get on board

Naples

Cycling at 4MPH was a little slow.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

I Love Rome, we hired a private Taxi (cheaper than using cruise liner) and headed into Rome for a few hours. We had to be back no later than 6, but really the next stop is only 3 hours up the coast so this could have been made much later for those that wanted to stay and consume more of the local culture.

Cannes

Cannes is lovely, great food, people and views.

Marseille

Its a dump with very little on offer. also have to fork out $15 per person for the transfer as the boat docks 8 km away
