Chosen for destination and port of departure. First impressions were good. Cabin perfectly fine except toilet required cleaning. No shampoo dispenser - it eventually arrived on our second last day - shower gel dispenser didn't 'dispense' - steward couldn't fix it. Lifeboat drill was comprehensive - much more thorough than other lines.
Ship was very clean, gel dispensers everywhere though I saw quite a lot of passengers ignore them. The crew were, in the main, pleasant. Most were from Eastern Europe, especially the Ukraine. Some - a minority - were pretty gloomy looking and seemed to find the job demeaning. They should pack up and go home as their attitude do the company no favours at all.
The food on board was absolutely appalling!! Think poor school dinners and you're almost there. Loads of choice but nothing remotely appetising either in presentation or, more importantly, taste. It was truly awful! I wrote to CMV to complain and received a prompt response from them which was basically along the lines of 'one man's meat is another man's poison.' They pointed out that they provided plenty of choice. Yes, they did BUT it was ALL dreadful. They did say that they would pass on my comments to the ship. I do hope they do AND that things improve dramatically.
Basic but comfortable. Plentiful hot water and very powerful shower - it absolutely blasts the water down so plastic curtain is sucked in and wraps itself round your body.
Walked to town - the fish market was totally amazing, we had a delicious lunch there.
