Just coming to the end of the April 30th sailing through Norway on the Eclipse. This is our fourth cruise, the second on Celebrity adding one Princess and one Carnival. We have no loyalty to any cruise line and have no special affinity for cruising as a way of travel but choose to do so when cruising offers the most efficient way to see an area of the world.
The itinerary was excellent on this cruise, offering no more sea days than necessary and covering the most significant of the Norwegian fjords that could be covered in 8 days. We had SS1 2046...a corner aft suite on the Resort deck. This suite has a full overhang which offers great privacy and shielding from the elements. The often discussed and feared noise from the cafeteria above is only occasionally heard...never while sleeping or early in the morning. I wouldn't choose another location if we cruised on this ship again. There was no "soot" to be found on outdoor furniture and the "poll" which many fear or complain about is a non-issue when occupying the room.
The service was excellent...the best feature of the cruise ship aspects. All staff were friendly, accommodating and the room care and cleanliness were at the highest level. There were no weaknesses in this area and clearly a five star experience from a service perspective. The ship is clean and well kept. I did expect to be moved more by the design and decor but found it rather non-descript...certainly not luxurious. It was very stable during a bit of rough seas...very quiet and no vibration
A decent tour of Bergen.
A must do and see.
Well done tour of fjord.
Beautiful small city.
Didn't go far enough into the fjord
