This was my 7th cruise, 3rd with Celebrity and first time on the Silhouette. I have also been on HAL and Disney. Since this was my 3rd cruise with Celebrity, my expectation was only set to my previous experiences with other Celebrity ships (Reflection and Constellation). I know Celebrity does not have outstanding and friendly services to begin with, but the Silhouette has the worst services among all the cruises I've been on. Don't get me wrong, not all the crew are bad. My stateroom assistance was excellent and my server was very friendly, even though he could be slow and forgetful at times.

But I found they have poor services at the Main Dining Room for full serviced breakfasts and lunches and more than half of the crew in Cafe Al Bacio were not too good compared to the other cruises. I didn't feel I was welcomed at all. A lot of special requests in the main dining room (breakfast) were ignored or were given a lot of excuses why they cannot accommodate it. (e.g. cannot request the use of less oil with my omelette because they used a "spray" - my omelette that day turned out to be a lot more oilier than normal. In addition, you cannot request warm soy milk with oatmeal because "they don't know how soy milk will react in a microwave".. but they did bring warm skim milk for another other.) . I was totally fine if my requests cannot be fulfilled but the attitude from the servers during breakfast time were quite rude. Moreover, I felt they were not very motivated to serve you at all. Often times, we had to sit there for over 15-20 min and nobody bother to come over to take your order. By day 7, I learned from the hard way that you can get better services in the oceanview cafe for breakfast. (my parents prefer full-serviced breakfasts therefore we never went upstairs).. In addition, there seems to be a lack of sommeliers in the main dining room. There were at least 3 times that I had to wait for a sommelier for over 45 min to take my drink order. By that time, my main course lunch was already done... Services in the main dining room (breakfast - dinner) felt a lot slower than before. I think there were less staffs in the main dining room. I felt like they have to manage a lot more tables, that's why the service was quite slow for most of the time.

Food: Food wise, the quality of food is about the same as the other celebrity ships. I always enjoy their fish dishes, cheesecakes and lemon tarts. Food in Murano was excellent. However, I found most of the chocolate sponge cake bake on board were very hard and dense on this sailing. This was not a real problem, I just have to order another dessert.
