My Mom and I booked this cruise last-minute because of the itinerary and the price that came up. Plus, I needed one more cruise on Carnival to bump me up to Platinum Level (VIFP)!! So, this was my first time with "Priority" everything! Needless to say, embarkation was smooth and fast. The workers at the port were very friendly.

Since it was last-minute (not many rooms left), we got an interior stateroom on the first deck (AFT), which made my Mom a little nervous - I'm not sure why. It was very comfortable though, could barely feel any movement, and was nice and quiet. (Room #1402 Category 4B). The room stewards were WONDERFUL, as usual. We could have used a little freshening spray for the bathroom (toilet area), but it didn't bother us, and we didn't ask.

The ship was just not very impressive. It has kind of a gold color scheme - and has the Statue of Liberty around in different areas. Thank goodness it had Guy's Burger Joint! That may have been the deciding factor for me! We ate there probably 4 times in the first five days. Delicious!! I was disappointed that there was no Tandoor Chicken food place for lunch, like I've seen on other refurbished ships. But there was the Mongolian Wok, which I stood in line for twice. (YUM!) Read more
