Chose this 6 weeks before going seemed a very good offer and based on what we paid it was value for money. but would have felt differently if had paid original costs .This is our 4th time on this ship and it is not nearly as good as in the past. The refurbishment did not include furniture in lounges which is very tired. The cabin was fine and the housekeeping staff including our steward Glen were great.
Food range was fine but not warm in buffet unless you arrived when new tray just delivered This included soups. Tried Meridian Restaurant with same result Scrambled egg at breakfast was luke warm and delivered on a cold plate. The themed restaurants (extra payable) apart from the Kora La were also a disappointment. Again food not really warm enough for my taste. The staffing in the bar areas particularly Liberties was also thin on the ground with long waits for service. There were lots of add ons to drink prices some of which made no sense eg, extra 95p for can of coke but liqueur eg Cointreau no extra.
Embarkation and disembarkation were well handled and smooth. Shore excursion on Malta was disappointing guide stressed key sight was church at Mosta and got us there outside its opening hours . The shows were excellent and very professional but unless you were willing to sit for ages before show or were one of a group and someone kept your seat good seats were gone for those further down the queue. This results in long queues in Hemingways and outside shops. Do not presume that AI means your drink will be branded unless you specifically say so it will not be,
