This is my sixth cruise, all on Oceania. We chose a transatlantic cruise because we wanted a relaxing two weeks without guilt...we could lie in the sun and read, or participate in shipboard activities without fear of missing something in port. We docked overnight in Bermuda and were one day in Madiera, one day in Gibraltar on our way to Barcelona. It was a perfect itinerary for us.
We used Oceania's airfare and arrived in Miami on time, met our coach to the pier and were able to go on board as soon as we registered. As usual, we had lunch on the pool deck and were able to get into our stateroom in a timely manner.
There is ample space for two women to unpack and stow luggage under the beds. The side mirrors in the bathroom open to storage space and there is one drawer as well. The bathroom has a full size tub with a handheld shower and there is a separate shower with a glass door (Oceanis's smaller ships have a fabric curtain in the shower). There is a retractable clothesline over the bath and a towel shelf that is handy for hanging a wet swim suit or laundry. Our stateroom was on deck 9, several doors away from the laundry and the Concierge lounge. Even so, the room was quiet. We rarely heard noise from the hallway. The balcony was big enough for two chairs and a small table.
Would have been easy to do without a guide
Well run
