I had always wanted to try a TA cruise and this was a perfect opportunity. It turned out even better than my expectations. The greatest aspect was the leisurely pace, not having to get up early in the morning for a shore excursion, having plenty of time to linger over meals, and lots of the during the day for reading and napping.

My wife and I did only the 14 day TA crossing and returned from Barcelona but those 14 days were wonderful. And the Oceania experience cannot be duplicated anywhere else. The service and the food were excellent and we had the added benefit of reasonably good weather, no major storms, just a bit of rain. We enjoyed our concierge level stateroom and had excellent service from our stateroom staff. The concierge lounge was great for a quick cup of coffee in the morning. We also took advantage of the fitness area that had ample and well maintained equipment.

The shore excursions were not the primary attractions on this voyage but were interesting. The excursion through Bermuda was interesting and the excursion in Gibraltar was not only interesting but the tea at the Rock Hotel was quite lovely. Unfortunately, it rained fairly steadily in Funchal making that excursion a bit more problematic. The real attraction was that there were not many shore excursions leaving plenty of opportunity to sleep late which was needed since we had several time changes during the voyage, all setting the clock ahead.
