After reading some not so great reviews of this ship before we left I was getting a bit nervous, so I felt compelled to write that if you do not have a fabulous vacation on this cruise it is your own fault. No, it isn't the newest ship, it's slightly dated and some rooms are worn, but it is perfectly clean.

Our plane landed at 3:00, plenty of taxis waiting to take you to the ship, $27 for four of us. Don't waste your money on the Royal Carribean transfer fees. I believe we were on the deck in a lounge chair by 4:30, fairly smooth process.

We had 2 inside cabins, the couches were a bit worn, but again room perfectly clean and our room attendant Mel was superb. Bed was very comfortable and I personally love the darkness of these rooms, we slept great! Yes the showers are small but we knew this from earlier cruises. Our two teenagers quickly met up with others their age on the boat and had a great time in the pools, hot tubs, watching outdoor movies and just meeting new friends. I purposely did not purchase internet so everyone could be away from it for a week. I did purchase a week of Global cellular through Verizon so that we could be reached in port in case of emergency.

Port Reviews

Barbados

Wonderful 5 hours with Calabaza sailing. Snorkeled, swam with Sea Turtles, plenty of food and drink on board, anchored at gorgeous beach, top rate crew, just fabulous

St. Croix

Went to the beach just left of the ship as you disembark, Rainbow Beach I believe. We walked down to an area that had some shady spots. Beautiful, clean, a little rocky in spots getting in and out but noting to deter you from swimming. Encouraged by our rum punch server to take a walk down the beach which was beautiful. Don't remember the cost of two chairs and an umbrella, maybe $20 or so. Very friendly staff.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Was told by a friend to go to Reggae beach but our taxi driver encouraged us to get off at the quieter end of the beach, called Lion Rock beach I believe. They were great, again, delicious punch and inexpensive local beer. Nominal amount for chairs and umbrella and it was an absolutely gorgeous beach.

St. Maarten

My kids wanted to shop a bit so we just took a water taxi to the downtown area and went shopping and to the beach. It wasn't my favorite, if I went back I would probably go to Orient beach or explore another area. Others we spoke with enjoyed the airplane beach but I also heard it was pretty crowded there.

Dominica

Very unique site, we got there just in time, it got very crowded as we were leaving

Dominica

Booked directly with Antours, absolutely loved it! Went to Emerald pool, then river tubing, then beach. gorgeous island!
