My spouse and I have sailed 6 lines and place Celebrity at the top of our choices predicated upon value, amenities and actual dollar cost. We have sailed Solstice class ships all but once. Eclipse offered us a chance to relax and enjoy the ship rather than scurry off to ports we have visited many many times, both on cruises and on land vacations. With Celebrity's change from Formal Night to chic, I gave ny tux to charity and wore a suit once, a sport coat once and sweaters over dress shirts every other evening.
To be sure, there were several formal passengers (actually almost as many as when there were designated formal nights) but, in the main, people were well-dressed with few and fr between tattooed torn jeans wearers.
We ate most meals in Luminae, but had 2 in BLU and 1 in Murano. We also greatly enjoyed uncrowded lunches at Mast Grill with fresh hamburgers, lemonade and ice cream cones while others were off on shore excursions. Likewise, the pools and hot tubs were ours whenever while shore excursions were in progress. My spouse utilized the Spa services at reduced prices on 2 port days.
My spouse needs a medical device for sleeping. One phone call pre-embarkation was all it required to have the necessary electrical connection and distilled water in the cabin on embarkation day.
Our luggage was delivered promptly BEFORE muster and we found sufficient space for all of our belongings.in the closets and on the storage shelves. We were unpacked and able to shower and dress for the evening meal while still attending a more or less private meet and mingle before supper.at Sunset Bar.
The living room and balcony were both large enough for comfortable relaxation. The bedroom and bath were separated allowing privacy for private matters. The bed was quite sleepworthy. My spouse was pleased with the jacuzzi tub and used it often. The multi-outlet shower was just what I'd like at home.
The cabin was cleaned and prepared for whatever we wanted before we asked for it. My spouse enjoys playing Mah Jongg and she invited several other ladies to our balcony for afternoon games. Extra chairs were made available as well as a table cloth and extra cups for coffee.
WE WERE,, FOR MANY YEARS, MIAMI RESIDENTS. IT WAS NOT A PORT STOP FOR US, IT WAS AN EMBARKATION PORT
