Wasn't sure what to expect of HAL. I've cruised with RCI in the past. I was worried that our trip would be a "fossil cruise." It was anything but. There were four of us ranging in age from 39 to 98 me being the youngest. After reading some of the reviews of the Eurodam, it feels like I wasn't on the same boat as some of the reviewers. Definitely an older crowd, but the seniors that were on the cruise were active. We also had 125 kids on board that we rarely heard or saw. They seemed completely entertained and those who didn't want to deal with kids didn't have to. I think it would be a great family cruise for multi-generations.
The food was far, far, superior to anything that we've ever had on RCI. The entertainment was also better. Some of the shows were a little cruise ship cheesy, but that's to be expected. Enjoyed the pilates and the gym was good. Had a great manicure at the spa and again, it was far superior to anything on RCI.
These folks actually enforced the dress code and it was kind of nice. It made it feel more upscale and my elderly companions really appreciated it. We also really liked the afternoon tea.
