My husband and I booked this cruise somewhat last minute. We had been booked on the 4/23 sailing on the Magic for a year for the Eastern Carib. but added this as a fun Mom and Dad getaway before the kids joined us on 4/23.

We were, overall, happy with the ship. As it was just the two of us (the first time EVER without kids) there wasn't much that was going to bring us down!

I have yet to have a meal on any Carnival ship that I walk away from thinking it was wonderful! The food, as always, was fine. Mediocre. Average. We paid the $35 to eat in the steakhouse and again, it was fine. My husband got a filet mignon and said he preferred the filet he gets from Longhorn. While he was impressed with the size of the cut, the seasoning was poor and it was fairly flavorless. I had the lobster tail. While it was delicious - they served it with clarified butter which where I'm from is sacrilege! It wasn't a big deal and I happily ate that along with the adorable little chef's tapas that were sent to the table as well.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8E

Our room was a balcony and was very nice The drain in the shower overflowed overtime we used it which was annoying. I never told our room steward because I literally never saw him. He was a ghost. He came in and out in a flash and kept everything clean.

Port Reviews

Nassau

We didn't do much in Nassau other than walk around the main strip. Straw Market was huge and had people weaving baskets and other souvenirs right in front of us. Very neat to see - but I'm not a fan of being harassed so we left fairly quickly.

Other than that, it was the same jewelry, t-shirts booze combo as all the other Caribbean ports.
