We chose this cruise because of the price and traveling with a group of 10. We had low expectations as we usually travel on smaller ships and knew this would be crowded. The MSC Divina is a beautiful ship and for the number of passengers, MSC does a great job in embarkation and disembarkation including at the ports visited. The cabins are nice (we had a balcony and for the money it as a very nice cabin) Our cabin steward was excellent and friendly. Those are the positives.

The negatives were that there were a very large number of children who were left to run wild all over the ship and at all hours including at the pools where there is no room to sit, stand or in most cases even move. You have to shuffle through the areas as it is soo crowded.

The food onboard is mediocre at best and the buffet is a joke. The same thing day, after day and while the buffet is supposed to be open until 2 am, they close it down at 1 am. The dining room staff is stressed to the max. There are so many tables crammed in, in the dining rooms that the staff can hardly move to deliver the food so the staff is very unfriendly and if you ask for anything their response is one of annoyance.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Time allowed in port was too short to really do anything.

St. Maarten

Time allowed for shopping and fairly easy to get to shops, however trying to figure out what gate to go through to get back to the ship was confusing and the guards at the gates were rude and not helpful. We went to the first area that looked like it accessed all the ships and we were told "this isn't your gate go over there". They pointed off to the right but when were unable to figure out where "over there" was they were very short and basically annoyed that we asked specifically "where"...they need to cut the attitude and be helpful.

San Juan

We were lucky in that we had someone with us from Puerto Rico and they helped us navigate to different sight seeing areas. It is a very nice destination and we really enjoyed it including the fact that most of the passengers were off the ship and we could actually move (the first time all week), onboard since we got back on the ship early.
