What can I say? We loved it. The weather is perfect in July for touring. Chilly in the morning... warming as the day goes on. Sailing into Stockholm is beyond peaceful and beautiful. (Veranda cabin pays for itself that morning alone!) HAL's excursions in St. Petersburg were the only ship excursions we did. The canal ride to Church of the Spilled Blood during the day and the Hermitage After Hours at night. Both well worth the money. All other ports were easy to do on our own. The service on the ship was excellent. We did room service on dressy nights since we travel light (carry on luggage only). The day we did excursions through HAL, they asked us to fill out a menu card so they could have our dinner brought to our cabin between our day/night excursions. Very thoughtful and helpful. Many nice touches like that throughout the cruise. We bought the spa passes at a discount on the first day $200 for the cruise. I used it most days, sometimes just taking a half-hour nap on the heated tile loungers. (Hubby didn't, so that was wasted $.) The pool's roof opens on nice, warm days and closes when there's a chill. We enjoy the quiet crowd on HAL, no loud DJ or belly-flop contests at the pool. It all depends what you are looking for. HAL does not have a lot for children to do, so there are very few families. It's mixed, but mostly an older crowd. Overall, an excellent time!!

Terrific, effortless way to see so many places!

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Verandah is THE WAY to go! We like the quiet and privacy of having our own balcony. And of course, the fresh, sea air!!
