Cruise included two night pre stay at the JW Marriott in Quito Ecuador. Hotel was very good. All meals included. Tour they gave us was not very good. Would have been better to have different options for tours. All transfers, drivers and most guides very good.
Flight to Baltra good, plane a little cramped though. Transfer to ship went very smooth.
We were in cabin 506 with a veranda, If you can do it I definately recommend having a veranda. We saw all kinds of animals and birds while sitting there. Cabin was a good size, queen bed that you could walk around. Love seat, desk, fridge stocked with water and pop. Good size bathroom.
Ship in good condition everything easy to get to. Gym only had one treadmill, a manual elliptical and a manual bike and some free weights. It is located right where they give massages which I'm sure would be noisy. Ship is warm, we kept our air conditioning right down and it was ok.
Food pretty good. Service good to excellent. Only a few could not speak English it seemed. Tours were good. Guides excellent except Adolpho, he seemed to do the bare minimum and didn't seem too enthusiastic about his job.
On the second last day my husband picked up a Norwalk virus. Dr. Saw him three times and he was in very poor shape. A few other people also got this and we heard that one woman that went onto Machu pichu was hospitalized with the same thing. I never saw anyone cleaning hand rails or anything else for that matter while on the ship. The use of hand sanitizer was never enforced or expected. They were more concerned with what is on the bottom of you shoes than keeping people healthy. Celebrity never followed up on our complaint as we wanted to make sure they cleaned the ship thoroughly as to not have anyone else get sick. Very poor customer service from celebrity after the cruise. Not happy with them.
Galapagos is a must see.
