We had never taken a transatlantic before and the itinerary ended in Southampton so we could visit friends before flying home. We had been to the Med side of the countries, but all 4 ports we visited were new for us. We loved the days at sea. As much or as little to do--just depended on what you were looking for each day. The crossing was quite smooth and the Captain and crew were visible throughout much of the cruise. The entertainment for the most part was very good and quite varied. We have sailed with Celebrity many times in the past and have never been disappointed. We enjoy this size ship better than the larger ones.
I do see a difference in the food in the main dining room. Much less variety on the Menu, but still attractively prepared and served. The desserts were not as good as past cruises, but you can get different desserts at so many locations on board ship. It actually was good to watch our calorie intake.
Too many offers to use their specialty dining restaurants. Constantly being asked throughout the day. We have been to all of them several times before and the food is exceptional, but we had such a great group at our Dining Table, that we choose to forego the speciality restaurants and dine in the Main Dining Room.
Our steward and his assistant were top notch! We asked for a few things upon our initial meeting and they had them available for us and were always available when we needed them. The room was comfortable and always clean.
Great tour guide. Beautiful villages and history
We walked on shore and up to one of the remains of a castle. Beautiful port town.
