Traveled with children

This was our first cruise and we really didn't know what to expect. My wife and I are 41 and 42, and our kids are 13 and 17. We live in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada. We drove to Seattle and then flew on Virgin America from Seattle to Los Angeles the day before our cruise. A low cost yet excellent airline. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in San Pedro the night before our cruise. An older hotel but very nice and clean.

Embarkation was a simple and quick process. We arrived at the port at 12:15 pm and we were on the ship by 12:45 pm. Once we were on the ship, our adventure began. We were very excited. The Sapphire Princess is a beautiful ship.

We were offered soda cards for $29.75 each. This gives you unlimited pop. My wife and I bought one each and we bought our two kids (13 and 17) the "ultimate kids drink" cards for $63.00 each which gave them unlimited pop, "mocktails", ice cream and sundaes. A little pricey but well worth it for our family.

Cabin Review

Cabin E

Our cabin E403 was small but very well laid out. It was a very quiet location mid ship. Lots of closet and storage space. The beds were very comfortable. We had a nice view from our window. There were four of us and we didn't feel cramped at all.
