This is our second ocean cruise with Viking Oceans and one on their river cruises ( China riverboat adventure) . The first ocean cruise was on the Viking Star on July 11 2015, in which we did the Viking Homelands with the extension to Iceland . That voyage was just beautiful and both the crew and ship out preformed our expectations .
Our second Ocean Cruise was even better that our first, if that could be ! We did the Catalonia to Constantinople (Istanbul to Barcelona) cruise starting on April 3,2016 with a pre cruise stay in Istanbul. I must say, we had no issues with any of the Istanbul stay and Viking's pick of the Conrad Hotel, was spot on. Beautiful Hotel and wonderful service. We had contracted with a private tour company thru our travel agent . Our local guide made us feel at home and very safe ! . I do believe that Istandbul, the folks and city, are getting a very bad rap. Go and enjoy your time there, it's a beautiful and vibrant city .
A special note - early April is their peak time for tulips and spring flowers and you shouldn't be missed .

wonderful boat ride up the Centina River with wine/cheese tasting - after a short walk in town, Beautiful - would do it tomorrow , if possible.
Venice
Met at dust and toured the canals via Gondola , we had a boat in front of us with a signer and music ! What a memory ! Something you will never forget.
Santorini
Wonderful but a lot of walking - it's heaven on earth, what a beautiful place . one for your bucket list .
Athens (Piraeus)
80 plus steps uphill - please take note of uneven walkways, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world .
Barcelona
Wonderful - can be done if you have mobility issues . shouldn't be missed except on rainy/foggy days
