Like The Viking Sea, this was our maiden Viking cruise. We joined a group of 4 other couples who had previously been on Viking River cruises, including one couple on their 10th Viking cruise. Everything exceeded our expectations. Every detail on the ship is stunning from the Explorer's Lounge (a favorite area) at the bow to the infinity pool at the stern. Two examples: every chair in the public areas is both beautiful to look at as well as comfortable; the range of books found throughout the ship is amazing - from current best sellers to history, classics and gardening.

Our cabin was spacious, well-appointed. Loved the private veranda and shower. Food consistently excellent especially 3 meals at the Chef's Table, breakfast and lunch at Mamsen's and high tea in the Winter Garden. An unexpected bonus: the highly talented, energetic young entertainers were so good we didn't miss a show, especially The Rat Pack, Beatles Poolside and Abba Review.The pianist and classical trio also wonderful.

Loved the main pool area, plus infinity pool and spa for relaxation and exercise. Personalized service throughout the ship was consistently excellent especially for our cabin and meals throughout the dining areas. Our guides for our excursions ranged from very good to excellent. Only glitch was no lunch as indicated on Santorini tour; we were compensated for this oversight. Also because we had the last tour of the day in Dubrovnik we did not have time to adequately explore this beautiful city. Read more
