Our friends living in Hawaii wanted to use NCL Pride of America for us ( from the Mainland) to see all four islands and enjoy cruising amenities together. Since POA just left drydock after 5 weeks we expected a sparkling renewed ship. We bought a package from WMPH ( iCruise) that included transfers and pre cruise hotel in Waikiki. WE explored Oahu and saw Pearl Harbor and the North Shore.. We had gotten oriented and over jet lag by embarkation day.

This ship does the same 7 day itinerary every week starting on Saturday, so we EXPECTED NCL would have their act together

Embarkation proved chaotic and demeaning as there was no order and no effort to get passengers expedited. A long luggage line expanded each time a bus arrived with "transfers" from the local hotels. WE knew from previous NCL cruises to get a porter and pay for luggage to be put on board and avoid the luggage line of about 200 people. But we then had the 45 minute wait of the security line of about 300 people. with two screeners
