The ship was very clean, easy to get around. I did not hit any of the amenities like the pools or the spa. Lots of bar areas. There was a french bakery in the shops area that my kids LOVED.

On and off the ship was efficient and easy.

How was the service & food? I had read some concerns regarding pushy people at embarkation and sullen staff. This was NOT my experience. Everyone was very happy, super helpful. Staff was very happy to offer us advice on the way to get the most from our premium drink cards also, actually recommending shakes to our kids and premium brands for us. We had a private table, in the larger of the two dining rooms. Food in the buffet was ample, lots of variety (not just greasy, american style breakfast).

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Note, MSC backs into ports and so our aft positioned balcony rooms and our decks got nice and toasty in the afternoons. This could be a negative in the summer months but was wonderful in the cooler spring.

Bathroom was well appointed and reasonable size. Hard shower stall rather than curtain was really nice. US plugs in room helped with charging.

Cons: beds and pillows were thin. This is probably the biggest negative in my opinion.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Trip to Montserrat with excellent guide. Note there is little time for museum tours or the "lifts" in the area, but didn't regret missing some leisure time so we could get a Gaudi drive tour.

Marseille

Excellent guide. Avignon was very unique

Genoa

Walked through the old city. Stunning. Our favorite port by far. Lots of accessible sites / architecture and museums. Great food. Taxis had standard rates to/from the port which were very reasonable.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Book early so you can get the one excursion with access to the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Our only regret of the trip was that this particular tour was booked online

Palermo (Sicily)

Amazing chapel, guide and town experience

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Excellent guide. Had a last minute port change due to inclement weather so only a few available tours. Beautiful, just not as visually or artistically stunning as some of the other tours.
