We have done numerous cruises before but this was definitely the largest ship we sailed on so we were apprehensive. There were some times when it seemed crowded but that was mostly around the bars and we really did not have to wait too long.
We learned early in the cruise to make reservations for the entertainment and all that we saw was very good. We ate our meals in either the Taste, Manhattan or Garden. The Garden had a great variety and was generally really good. After a long day of shore excursions we would eat in the Taste. The food was generally good but not spectacular. They did present a variety of choices. Some nights we ate in the Manhattan and again the food was the same as in the Taste. We were seated promptly every time we visited either the Taste or the Manhattan. We did dine once in the Shanghai room and was very disappointed in the food. We really enjoyed the Irish Pub and ate there several times with only once getting a poor meal ( the fish and chips). The first day on the ship the fish and chips was stellar but when ordered later in the cruise it was dismal.
Our cabin, a balcony suite, proved to be very small for us. We are not very tall people and the bed seemed short to the both of us. We have been on other smaller ships and the balcony suites seemed to be larger. Our cabin steward was excellent. We really did enjoy the freestyle cruising and will strongly consider this again in the future. I do believe we will look for smaller class ships though.
The room seemed small to us. The bed was short and we are not tall people. The coffee maker did not work well due to a new brand of coffee. We asked for something different and the steward found us some of the older type that worked fine. The room temperature was hard to control. There was a lack of storage until we asked about this and the steward showed us some nooks and crannies that could be used and this worked out well for us.
