We embarked on our cruise in Barcelona. It was very quick and smooth we checked in at 11.00 am. Within 40 minutes I was on the top deck with a "Moscow Mule" in my hand relaxing. Apparently other people had a 3 hour checkin so we were lucky. Our cabins were not ready until 1.30 pm but that did not bother us.

It was a full ship so the crowds of people at breakfast and lunch was mad. It's no wonder some of the staff looked depressed. We tried Taste 3 nights. I am a vegan and had pre booked my meal. I got dry rice and broccoli. It looked like prison food. On the second night I had pre booked my meal again and was given dry rice and broccoli. Lack of imagination and flair shown. It was supposed to have been vegan lasagne. I complained to a manager about this and was promised a fab meal the following evening. Firstly my vegan starter contained fish. I was then served instead of rice, cous cous and broccoli. The service was slow, I had to request that our water glasses be refilled twice and I had to ask for more wine twice. I was given a vegan slice of cake as compensation. It didn't make up for my disappointment. From then on we ate in the Garden where there was plenty of salads and choice. My only complaint here is that the meat salads were stored beside the vegetarian salads and kept contaminating the vegetarian salads. I told the manager about this and suggested that the salads be stored separately but she didn't really take me on.

The onboard entertainment was good, there was always something happening. Luckily I had my drink package included in my price as drinks are very expensive. My husband doesn't drink but he couldn't even get a free cappuccino. We had pre booked Priscilla before we went on the cruise but when we got into the theatre my husband had to stand throughout the production as there were not enough seats. When seats are booked the seat numbers should be assigned to the relevant cabins. It wasn't fair that he had to stand. The library on board doesn't not contain many books for the size of the ship and number of passengers.

Cabin Review

Cabin IE

It was the smallest cabin we have had to date. The cabin was clean and very quiet. We felt that there were not enough hangers for 10 days vacation. We had no trouble sleeping on the comfortable bed. There was a bottle of wine waiting in our room when we arrived which was a nice touch. Like so many other passengers we did not like the layout of the cabin ie the positioning of the shower/toilet/wash hand basin.
