The Getaway is a good ship and we had a great time. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and the comedians were great. We went to their house magic show and it was not for us (beware, there is a pre-set dinner menu) but I can see how others might thoroughly enjoy it, especially if you are a kid or if you have not seen many magic shows.

We went to 3 specialty restaurants (Ocean Blue, La Cucina and Cagney's). Ocean Blue, in my opinion, is not really worth the upcharge (3 stars). You cannot go wrong with Cagney's (4.5 stars) and I really enjoyed La Cucina (5 stars) which does not always happen on NCL ships. Garden Cafe good as always (4 stars). I have one nit picky thing and that is the weird layout of the salad bar; there are two types of lettuce on either side of the fixings so you might have to back up to get your fixings after you choose your lettuce type which is difficult at a buffet and roughly 4,000 people onboard. My other minor gripe is that there were no onions and i would have to roam around to the grill to find onions for my salad. My only true complaint about Garden Cafe is the omelet station. With roughly 4,000 passengers you would think that there would be a better for the omelet stations. There are (I think) four or five stations with about a 20 min wait because they can only do 3 omelets at a time at each station. I would think that this is something that NCL could put a little more thought into the design going forward with their larger ships.

The spa is nice (I would give it 4 stars). The pools have WAY too much jets in some of the sections. It could have just been the passengers on my ship, but at times it was not very relaxing because people sounded like they were shouting, but it could have been to have their voices heard by their friend/spouse over the above mentioned jets in the pool. There are plenty of thermal beds but people often reserved them and hopped in the pool or went in the steam room (which should be better managed by NCL and let people know that reserving those chairs are strictly prohibited and then strictly enforce).
