This is our 4th Viking River Cruise and was just what we wanted. It was very laid back and relaxing. Bordeaux is a beautiful city and the cruise gave us just enough interest to want to go back to the city for a longer visit. Viking has such a good reputation for all the right reasons. First, the staff are always great. On every cruise, the staff are always smiling, happy and helpful. They truly enjoy their jobs and embrace getting to know the passengers. This really makes a difference in your enjoyment. We booked the least expensive room and were still very pleased with the large flat screen tv, the pillows and linens which were very comfortable and way our room was kept spotless by the cabin stewards. The lounge entertainer was very good! He was a professional opera singer and entertainer with a great voice. The opera singers who came on board were a treat. The Captain had 30 years experience and was very approachable and nice. Even the sailors were all smiling and have a good time. The tour guides are always great and this cruise had some exceptional ones who really know their subject. Our waiters were fantastic and always going the extra mile. Viking is known for being all inclusive and it is so nice to have them always offering you a bottle of water for your excursion, bringing around free appetizers during the before dinner captain's get together and just being attentive. We had a problem with noise our second night due to the mooring at the dock and during the night were upgraded to different room with a balcony by the hotel director. No question about it, Viking goes the extra mile to please their customers and we know we can count on that on every single cruise. We have the Viking Douro River cruise already booked, have been on the Viking Star Ocean and currently are booked on the Viking Sea for December so we love it.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

This is a very nice stateroom with a balcony which has two chairs and a small table. The main difference between this one and the less expensive E and F rooms are the space of the room and balcony. The bathroom is the same size but you do have 3 extra drawers for clothes, a larger nightstand on one side of the bed and room for a chair.
