Viking has one-upped the small ship cruise line. In the past 2 years we've taken 2 river cruises on Viking and both were outstanding. This ocean cruise exceeded our lofty expectations. The ship, service, food, and accommodations were the best. It was big enough that you never felt crowded yet still maintained the intimacy afforded by the river cruise boats.

We stayed in a Junior penthouse suite which afforded dramatic views while in port. Our room steward could not have been more friendly and attentive. His attention to detail and fulfilling some special requests were handled very efficiently. There was never any issue with laundry, room cleanliness, or restocking.

The cruise began in Barcelona and ended in Venice. Along the way we stopped in Toulon, Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples, Corfu, Dubrovnik, and Split.
