We wanted a special cruise and had never been to the Western Mediterranean. We had heard good reports about Viking River Cruises and liked the idea of transferring the River Cruise Philosophy to ocean cruising. Plus it was a brand new ship. This is by far the best cruise ship we had ever been on. The ship is bright with lots of room to just sit and enjoy a book. Before the cruise they upgraded us to Penthouse Veranda. A fantastic stateroom. Now my wife wants to cruise again, but it has to be a Penthouse Veranda.

We really enjoyed the ports of call and the shore excursions. The Port Talk each night on the next days port of call presented by the Cruise Director (Willie Aames) were outstanding. He made us look forward to each new day. We had dinner in the specialty restaurants Manfredi's and The Chef's Table and both were a great experience. Manfredi's was our favorite. It would have been helpful if we knew what the menu would be at The Chef's Table when we made our reservations before the cruise as some of the food I could not eat do to food allergies.

The crew was very friendly and attentive and made it a very enjoyable trip. people at the Shore Excursions desk and the Explorers' Desk can handle any situation that might occur and make your cruise carefree.

Cabin Review

Cabin Penthouse Veranda

Very room and really enjoyed the balcony. The heated floor in the bathroom was a real nice touch.
