We have been on several Viking River Cruises but this was our first Ocean Cruise with Viking. We were very impressed with the Ship (Viking Star) - it was like walking into a Scandinavian Hotel. We have been on many cruises but never seen such a well planned cabin, particularly the bathroom. Service was superb, every staff member must have been carefully hand picked. And the use of electronics was very up to date and totally unobtrusive. Food was excellent - we like table service but the breakfast buffet could not be beaten.Entertainment was carefully selected and of intellectual quality.

We squeezed in a lot of well organized shore excursions - maybe too much - I said we almost overdosed on ruins.

Embarkation and disembarkation was very easy. There was a small mishap in one of the ports after an excursion when the authorities had suddenly added more security and we had to stand in line for an extra hour to get on board. It was handled nicely by the Staff.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

We had one of the standard cabins, do not remember what category, no special upgrade. It was SUPER!The bathroom was pure luxury in size and comfort. And there were no problems whatsover storing our things. We travel light, but on other ships we have experiences trouble to even find somewhere to put t/shirts, socks and underwear. The desiign was also very pleasing, but I have to admit to being a Swedish national!
