We had a great time celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and marking two things off our buckets lists - visiting Germany and taking a cruise! We appreciated that all the arrangements and costs are included. We added the pre-cruise option and spent time exploring Nuremberg. The hotel there was a wonderful older building full of charm. We walked through the city, ate at a bistro and found a city wide market was held that weekend.

The accommodations on board were wonderful, the service outstanding, the atmosphere could not have been better. The room had ample area for us to relax if we wanted to stay on board. We enjoyed the cultural events on board, as well as the organized tours on shore. It was exciting to try the food from the region, the meals were always relaxed and almost a family type atmosphere easily allowing you to meet new friends, but the meals were far from ordinary. We were treated as if we were the focus of a team set to meet our every need. We plan to take another cruise with Viking as soon as possible.

We had the unique experience of hearing the cathedral bell "Fat Peter" ring when we arrived in port on a religious holiday. Each port had something unique to see and learn about, especially the WW@ memorial.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

The cabin was roomier than I expected. Plenty of room and a large bath with a roomy shower. We had a balcony which we enjoyed.

Port Reviews

Frankfurt

Getting on board was simple and flowed smoothly. We were transported from Nuremberg to Frankfurt directly to the docking area.

Heidelberg

What a wonderful experience to see the craftsmanship of something of another time.

Cologne

We thoroughly enjoyed being led by locals who were so knowledgeable and entertaining.

Amsterdam

We caught the last tour of the year, but the floral displays were still magnificent. So glad I went.
