We chose this cruise because we needed a third magnet from the Freedom Class of ships; we had never been to Belize or Honduras; and, we wanted to bring our shovel along to Galveston.
Embarkation was absolutely flawless! Galveston terminal staff are superb. We were on the ship about 11:30 a.m. and as is usual our room was not ready until 1 p.m. We "self assisted" ourselves both on and off of the Liberty OTS. Great weather, and thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. At our CC Meet & Mingle there was a complaint that disabled passengers were not able to use wheelchairs or motor scooters at the tender port, but a LOT of people had issues with getting onto the tender boats that were really "rocking and rolling". There is absolutely NO WAY that most disabled would have been able to negotiate the tender boats. The crew KNEW their jobs; the crew really DID their job; and, the crew was extremely friendly. Guest Services staff were excellent. A special shout out goes to the HR Director and to the Hotel Director regarding the crew. As with any cruise, we had some folks who had their nose out of joint about the food or rolling of the ship, but for the experienced cruisers, this was a good solid cruise. Ports were wonderful.
A special shout out to Adrian, the Loyalty Manager, and to Jorge, the Diamond Lounge manager. I forgot to get a wedding anniversary card for my wife ("She Who Must Be Obeyed"), and Jorge MADE me a card on his desktop, he attached it to a little bear, and my anniversary was absolutely complete THANKS TO JORGE!!!
What a GREAT location. The Freedom class of ship has a large "bubble" (which some call a "hump"), but there is a smaller bulge on the starboard side and 8260, 8262 and 8264 are on this bulge. 8260 is the first room forward of the bulge so that the balcony is larger and you have a GREAT view!!
This ranks among the 5 best cruises that we have EVER had!!!
We were in a "train" of cars pulled by a tractor made up to look like a little engine. It was an hour tour and well worth of the city.
A drive around the island to give you an up close and personal view of the island.
