Our second cruise on a Solstice class ship. The dining room menu was a lot less than previous cruise on this class ship (talking about the everyday choices that do not change). We paid for the unlimited internet choice and the connection varied during the day. I even snapped pictures of the screens when not available or having issues. Also, they decided to have a down period from 12 - 5 pm one day, why not early morning, 1-6 when not as many would be affected. We did not have the new internet on the Soltice, but connections and access was much better. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 4. I would not recommend this internet.

The shore excursions were excellent, but on some, too rushed. Time in Cozumel to go to Chichen Itza was insufficient, 2 1/2 to 3 hour bus ride to it, and return left about 1 hour for entire tour, also had to allow for ride on boat to and from Cozumel to mainland. Would definitely recommend the Costa Rica Rain Forest, the Panama Empera Indian Village. Also, the Cayman Islands Helicopters was fantastic, was my wife's first ride on helicopter, got to sit in front and loved it.

The shows were average. on our other Solstice cruise, there were 3-4 class act shows by the celebrity singers and dancers. I only enjoyed 1 of the shows (celebrity singers, etc) "Broadway in Love". the other shows they did had no theme to them so we left shortly after they began - Life, Destiny, Elysian. If you like comics, there were 4 comic shows. I enjoyed the James Stephens comic/piano show especially. They had several shows with singing and/or piano, I enjoyed the piano shows, but opera singing offered at 2 other shows was not my thing.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1C

Cabin 1C

Excellent views from cabin. Layout was very well. Our room attendant Deneisha and her assistant Felix were outstanding.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Outstanding tour but with 6 hour bus ride and 30-45 minutes on ferry to mainland, insufficient time to view this outstanding tour. Need to extend in port time by 2 hours to provide enough time.

Puerto Limon

The Rain Forest is a must see and the Tortuguero Canal trip was a great add on.

Colon (Cristobal)

The locks was very crowded, the Empera Indian village was great

Cartagena (Colombia)

Cartagena was two tours, first was okay, too many vendors in your face and guide was so/so (Angelina). Second day with Rafael was great and vendors less of an issue.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Cayman Islands Helicopter was outstanding. Great ride and knowledge.
