Just think...4100 passengers. That's a lot of passengers to manage. The ship never seemed to get breakfast right while in port: no coffee, no coffee cups, no cereal spoons, no milk and lastly, no place to sit. And while the crew tried to organize shore excusions, passengers were just crazed trying to get out to the buses first. We treated ourselves to an aft balcony cabin, but the floor arrangement was very awkward. Besides our bathroom being located in three separate areas (can't reach towels from shower) our bed was in the center of the room allowing for a 12 inch space to walk around...and we are not big people. The floor plans do seem to alternate, so ask for a room with the bed towards the balcony. Elevators are only located aft and forward with no midship option. This makes for long waits and crowded elevators wherever and whenever you want to get to another floor. The out and back jogging course is behind the lifeboats with no views and the mini golf is all of three "kiddy" holes. We give the Epic 2 stars because we did enjoy the itinerary, the shore excursions and the private dining rooms which allowed us to escape the maddeningly crowded cafeteria, but they costs more. 4100 passengers give us reason to go back to the smaller ships.
Floor plan is mind-boggling. Bed in the middle of the room made for very little space to maneuver, draw curtain to separate the room was very cumbersome and made no sense, couch faced closets, we had to get in bed to watch television, bathroom defies logic; couldn't reach towels from shower and the separate commode with frosted glass offered NO privacy. We really splurged to enjoy and aft balcony cabin. What a mistake. Room actually vibrated whenever the engines changed speed causing the drawers to slide open and shut. We had to move luggage in front of drawers to keep them shut during the night.
