We embarked from Barcelona and were on board within 40 minutes despite managing to time our arrival with what seemed to everyone else who was sailing. Our bags were brought into our cabin by Norman, our steward, within an hour of boarding. This was just the start of Norman's great and friendly service. Within 2 hours we were unpacked and ready to meet up with our friends. That's nothing short of a miracle as we do not travel light ( 4 large cases and 4 small cases, the contents of which were stored away easily in the generous storage that our cabin offered).
First impressions of the ship was that it is massive. However the layout is pretty much in line with every other ship I've sailed on and I soon got my bearings (although I still manage to get my port and starboard mixed up).
We were a large group, 12 of us but this rarely caused any problems if you planned ahead a little. The freeform dining worked well and for such a large party the longest we waited for a table was 20 minutes. The staff in the restaurants were all very friendly and helpful.
Cabin Review
Family Mini-Suite with Balcony
Plenty of storage space and nice comfortable bed if a little too small for my height. The main talking point in our group was the shower and toilet arrangement. Both cubicles had a frosted glass partition that gave an obscured view of the person inside. I think it's fair to say that there was a unanimous dislike of this by the 7 ladies in our party with the guys not really bothered about it. What this says about the way men and women think is not something that I'm going to get into in this review.
The balcony was nice but as we had a four berth room It would have been good to have had 4 chairs on the balcony as well.
The cabin was clean and well maintained and we received excellent service from Norman our cabin steward.
