I have only been on 5 cruises and 3 different cruise ship companies, but I found Brilliance of the Seas to have the nicest crew ever. The customer service area was so cooperative...clearly able to communicate and were determined to make you a satisfied customer. I have been on 3 ships (all the same company) where the customer service counter barely spoke English and were very rude and often unconcerned about the customer problems. The ship was a smaller one, but was beautifully decorated and in great shape...well maintained. The food in the Minstrel dining room was excellent...much better than the Windjammer food. Normally we go to the specialty restaurants, but we didn't want to miss the wonderful staff at the Minstrel dining room. There were plenty of changes for lunch at the Windjammer. I don't know why people have complained...I am very picky! The coffee in the Minstrel dining hall was totally different from what was offered in Windjammer cafe. We are coffee bean fanatics and felt that it was not as good as what we grind up at home, but the Minstrel coffee was acceptable.

Our balcony room 8510 was the smallest we have ever had of our previous cruises...the balcony was small, too. The bed was horrible, but I am spoiled by my Tempurpedic mattress..

Even with the horrible mattress...I would use Royal Caribbean again just because of the excellent service by everyone on the ship. The only workers that I observed being so-so in their work were the pool bartenders. They could care less about courtesy.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

This cabin was the smallest that we had ever had, but we chose it to be near our children and grandchildren who were in a fabulous family suite. We will never have an E1 with the small balcony again! There was no outlet for a night light in the bathroom, and if you tried to use your 1800 blow dryer for your hair it would blow the fuse. You have to use their 1200 blow dryer. We were at the front of the boat and it was extremely quiet. When the balcony door was open you could hear the ocean waves all night...no motor sounds at all!
