We have cruised a different cruise line the last 5 years and decided to try Norwegian this year. We booked the Owners Suite with Haven perks. We were in the white Diamond Suite 9504. We were amazed with all the perks this offers. Not only do you get to have priority boarding, you have priority all over the ship! Not only do you get a concierge but also a butler and the usual steward. All of whom were amazing: Omar (concierge), Charlie (butler) and Menzi (steward). We cannot say enough great things about these 3 men!! They definitely made our vacation easier and more enjoyable!!
The shows were great! The old cruise line's shows were getting old. Plus, on the Jade we had VIP seating. How cool was that!!
The food was good, the buffet set up was a little hectic. We missed the layout of the other cruise line. The specialty dining was great! Definitely try Teppanyaki!! Enjoyable and delicious! We felt like we were inside more on this ship, but maybe that was due to its size (a smaller ship than used to)?
Cabin Review
Owner's Suite with Large Balcony
The suite was amazing! A little too purple at first, however we got used to it. Loved the 1 1/2 bath, the separate bedroom from living space, the walk in closet & the large balcony off the living space and the the large balcony off the bedroom. We had 4 in our party but also had 2 sets of parents (8 total) cruising with us, the table to sit at and play cards was perfect!! Loved the Espresso/coffee maker that was in the room as well as all the perks!
Port Reviews
Houston
When arriving to port, there really wasn't anyone to guide us in where to go, first time with Norwegian and was a little confused. We had VIP but didn't realize we had a line special for going through security until we overheard someone else talking. Once we got passed security and got into the VIP lounge, it was amazing. Snacks (fruit, cheese, crackers etc) coffee, tea, lemonade & water to help ourselves to while we waited to board was great!
Cozumel
We had a great time. Ended at a restaurant, delicious! Their credit card machine went down and we held up our group. Felt really bad about that. Otherwise a great time!
Belize City
Had a great time. There were 2 boats out at the same time. The other boat got to see a large animal (hippo size) that was in the river. We got to see lots of birds, one being a really neat bird that belongs to the duck family. Very colorful (bright blue, bright yellow, etc) but had feet like a chicken.
Roatan
Had a great time playing in the water with my son. People trying to sell all kinds of goods if near the water. But they couldn't come by our lounge chairs which was nice. Very good meal that was served. Hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, coleslaw, local fruit.

My 11 yr old son has a sensitive gag reflex and could put the snorkel in his mouth... So my 14 yr old daughter and husband did this and had a great time. My daughter did get stung by a jelly fish as well as a little boy in the party had to be kayaked back to shallow water with his mom due to getting stung as well. My daughter said it wasn't that bad for her.
