Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

This was our third cruise- the second on Norwegian and our first on Breakaway from NYC. The ship was at full capacity, but it only felt very crowded a few times throughout the week. With 11 foot waves, the captain decided to skip Great Stirrup Cay and bring is directly to Nassau that evening, which was a bummer but understandable.

Our mid-ship mini suite (9834) was in a great location, super quiet, and very clean. Our room steward Ramel knew us by name from day one and was always nearby and helpful with any issues we had. We were worried about our balcony being directly over the Waterfront walkway, but we had no noise issues and could only faintly smell cigarette smoke a couple of times.

We weren't a huge fan of the Cruise Director Dan-Dan, but he was amusing. I agree with others who mentioned how odd the shows in the atrium are- there's not a lot of seating, and people tend to actually SLEEP IN THE CHAIRS ALL DAY LONG so if you want to watch a show you can't find a place to sit. There were a lot of shows in the Atrium that I would normally expect to be held in the theater- it was a strange set-up.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

We booked a guaranteed mini-suite with balcony (MX) and were placed in a mid-ship mini-suite, which was wonderful. Bed by the balcony, everything worked and was nice and clean. Yes, the balcony is tiny, but we expected that. Our cabin was nice and quite despite it being over the Waterfront walkway, and the only noise complaint we had was when the wonky chair on our balcony kept banging around (but our room steward took care of it as soon as we brought it up).

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

Embarkation and disembarkation were long processes that involved a ton of standing around in long lines, but the actual port was easy to get to and we were able to catch a cab fairly quickly once we left the ship.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Such an ugly port. The only good thing was seeing dolphins swimming around next to the ship.
