Lots of general comments

Frankly, I thought it was an excellent cruise for the money; however, there were still lots of glitches. The ship was overcrowded for the entertainment areas and the anytime dining was a mess with long lines (we had the fixed seating and were very happy). Dinners had plenty of variety; we never felt the need to pay extra to go to premium dining. The breakfast and lunch buffets were excellent with outstanding variety and there were a number of other free lunches around the ship (pizza, fish n chips, burgers). Very well staffed.

Our cabin was very nice and our steward was fabulous. Dolphin deck was close to everything. However, I would not pay extra for the balcony again; it was small and we hardly ever used it. Friends always get an inside room and just spend very little time in their room; not sure if I am up to that yet. Plenty of things to do on the ship and plenty of quiet places to hang out and read a book or play games.

Port Reviews

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

Went on the safari; not much different than Wild Animal Park in San Diego or a decent soon but required over an hour drive. Nothing outstanding; just a break in the cruise

Fuerte Amador (Balboa)

Seeing the new locks and the canal up close a day before going through it made the passage experience much better. However, our guide was an anti-American who repeated herself over and over with useless information; we actually filed a formal complaint back on board. The sights were great, listening to her was awful.
