My husband and I cruised the Glory 3-12 through 3-19. This was a free cruise I received through a land based casino. We upgraded to an aft extended balcony on Empress deck. This was not our first cruise, but it was our first Carnival cruise. It will not be our last!
We stayed one night before cruising at the Double Tree by Hilton, Miami Airport and Convention center. This was an excellent choice and we would stay again if cruising out of Miami.
We had many concerns before we cruised, we were worried that the ship would be taken over by thousands of kids running around unsupervised, this was Spring Break, would there be tons of college kids drunk and overbearing? All of our worries were unfounded. There were at least 700 children but we really never noticed them. For the most part they were well behaved and really not a factor. There did not appear to be many (if any at all) college age kids. In fact, I don't believe we saw anyone, young or old misbehaving.
We liked the three closets. There was adequate storage for two. Wish they could have black out curtains on the windows and door. Too much light coming in. There was a slight vibration in this cabin, especially in the bathroom. This was probably due to the fact that this was an aft cabin.
We took a taxi to Royal Palms Beach Club. $2 entry. Chairs are $10 and umbrellas $15. Drinks and food were expensive. The beach is beautiful, the pool is nice and you get to use all the facilities.
Quite a long bus ride to the ruins. Our guide was informative and made the ride to the ruins enjoyable. It was interesting to see the countryside. We have seen other ruins and these just did not live up to our expectations. We had armed guards at the site. Perhaps we were expecting too much, this excursion gets rave reviews.
We took at taxi to Nachi Cocum. $55 per person. All inclusive. Very nice beach, with chairs and umbrella. Drinks plentiful and strong. The food was delicious. There is a pool . Water toys and massages are available for an extra fee. They limit the number of guests and it did not seem crowded at all.
We have been to Miami before. We just ate in the hotel and chilled out the rest of the evening.
