Its hard to review this ship and trip as there were lots of good, but lots of things lacking. The best thing for us..the value. We got a super great deal...low price and it included the bev package and dining as well. Super good deal to have those. We had the bev package on our Alaska cruise with Celebrity and realized..no more cruising without the bev package. I would now say, no more cruising on NCL without a bev and dining package. Our cabin was fine...very good actually. First time we have had a balcony and although due to our dates, it was often a bit cool out there, it was really nice to be able to get out doors right in our room. Hated the bathroom all around. Sink is too small as so many say. Toilet feels like you are in a port-a-potty. Not great design. Also the bed is strange...too short and the curve design is off. But hey, we have been in an inside cabin with no window so it wasn't a problem. Bigger problem is the dining. In the premium restaurants, the food is mostly good (really good in the Bistro, the rest are just good), but they don't hold up to the promise they offer by the ambiance etc. For instance, the desserts they offer in these places are huge, but when you dig in, they are disappointing. Too bad they didn't go for smaller portions and higher quality. Main dishes are much the same. Steak at Cagneys was decent...in a Texas Roadhouse sort of way, which i am OK with, but don't call it a high-end Chicago steakhouse....they wouldn't have gristle in their Rib-eye like i had. We tried the Taste, non-premium one night. Food was very average and the ambiance was awful...soo much noise. So after that, we changed to all the premium restaurants. In my opinion, the ship is too big and if not, the ship needs to be bigger, space wise, with no more passengers. There isn't enough public areas. Hard to get a place to sit a the bars after 7 or so. We loved the dancing and pre and post dinner music on our last cruise...and could not find it here. The only dancing location was in the atrium bar, and it is poorly designed in the middle of everything with a huge video screen. Service was hit and miss...more miss than hit. Found one or two bars where the service was good, but often the best bet was to sit at the bar if you wanted to get a drink. Our cabin steward was mostly out-of-sight, but that may have just been us...my sister and husband had a much better experience with theirs (chocolate on their pillows every night...we saw no chocolate.). Embarkation and debarkation was very efficient and very good...better than our previous experiences. We waited very little to get on or off the ship. We got a deal, and for what we paid, we got a LOT for our money. However if you want to compare this to our last cruise on Celebrity, NCL does not fare well. But we love a deal. If we get another one...we would likely sale NCL and probably even the Epic. Last comment. Our main focus was Barcelona and we loved it. We really did not focus much on the itinerary. In hindsight...that cost us a bit as some of the stops were not that interesting. In addition to Barcelona we loved Morocco and Funchal Madera and also Malega Spain. The others were not too exciting. Last last comment. We took full advantage of the beverage package our first day on the ship, and at the same time, toured the spa then signed up for the spa package. The next day we were questioning our wisdom in spending that much on the spa, but it turned out to be a great investment. We went every day for a couple hours and loved it. It is a great spa and would highly recommend it.

We had fun, and lots of good things about the ship, but lacking in some areas.
