Another fun cruise vacation served by Royal Caribbean. This cruise met our expectation much more than did the previous year on Independence of The Seas. The difference in the attitude of the crew, from IOTS and FOTS, was night and day. The Freedom crew went out of their way to make the trip pleasant and enjoyable.

Embarkation - Excellent

The embarkation process was amazingly easy. We arrived at the port just before noon and were on the ship within 30 to 45 minutes. The whole process moved along very quickly. I don't have much to say about it because we didn't see much of it. That's a good thing! The only annoying thing about leaving the port…. Why oh why can people not show up for the muster drill? We had to wait several agonizing minutes for the inconsiderate passengers that decided their time was more valuable. Show up for the muster drill people! Get your family picture taken when boarding and be sure to hand them your sea pass card! The face recognition software is awesome. Later in the cruise, you can find all of your cruise photos very quickly.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin H

This is your basic standard cruise room cabin. It was clean and everything worked. The location is great if you like the activities and shows in the main theater. The noise from the theater is not heard from the room. The hallway is short so foot traffic is light. You have no noise from the stairs or elevators. The 4th deck is easily accessible for an outside stroll to the main dining room. You can bypass the main promenade. The 4th deck is also great for outside walking or site seeing. There is a walk way that goes completely around the ship on the outside. It allows access to the helipad on the very front of the ship.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Not too far from the airport. Not the extra 4 to 5 hours, like Ft Lauderdale and Miami, if driving down for a cruise.
