Check-in and embarkation went smoothly - no complaints. First meal - lunch buffet - the best meal, other than the pizza, the entire cruise. Endless ice cream - no complaints. Dining room - meals mediocre and cold. Desserts - dining room and buffet - nothing special. Formal night - we waited 1-1/2 hrs. to be seated. Food was extremely slow getting to the table, and when it arrived, it was cold. They actually made an attempt to apologize for that night - with a note and four pieces of sweets. We were not impressed. That was our last meal in the dining doom. The remaining meals were a mixture of this from the buffet, that from the salad bar, something from the deli, tried several desserts in hopes of finding something scrumptious, and always ended up back at the faithful ice cream (which tasted better than the frozen yogurt). The pizza was good every time we ate there.

The cabin was sufficient. The life jacket storage was a major pain - took up way too much room at the foot of the bed in the corner of the room. There was no way to get around it. You had to crawl across the bed to get to the window (which, by the way was so dirty, you could barely see out). If you were the unfortunate one to sleep on the side of the bed with the life jacket storage blocking your exit, you had to crawl to the end of the bed to make your way to the bathroom. Our cabin steward, Sidan, was excellent, he knew us by name, would always greet us when he saw us, asked about our day. The room was always clean, ice bucket always full, cute towel animals, clean towels, shampoo and bath gel dispensers always full.

Pools were a disappointment. The young kids had their pool. One small pool for ALL of us??!!! Adults and teenagers crammed in that small pool?! You've got to be kidding!! Nope. It's true. A pool about the size of a pool in someone's backyard - for about 3000 people. Needless to say, we didn't get in the pool.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

We drove from Mississippi on the morning of the cruise. Check-in and embarkation went very smooth. All was well organized. We were quite pleased with our overall check-in and embarkation experience.

Cozumel

We did not take an organized excursion in Cozumel. We got off of the ship for a few hours to enjoy the sights, the shops, and interact with the locals. It was an enjoyable time.

Progreso

We did not get off of the ship in Progresso.
