We flew into Fort Lauderdale from Albany, NY and took a taxi from the airport for $18. This was our fourth cruise, the other three being on Carnival, and this one was to celebrate our 25th anniversary. No kids with us for the first time! We were at the port and on the boat within half an hour after leaving the airport. We basically never stopped moving in line, and there were no tie ups at all. Much better than our experience boarding Carnival sometimes.
We had a balcony cabin on the Caribe deck with a double sized balcony big enough to have a party on! There were four chairs and a table on it, two of the chairs reclined. It was nice, as was the cabin. Plenty of storage space. Bathroom is a little tight, but fine, although it was tricky trying to shave legs in the shower! We had ordered an egg crate on the bed with extra pillows and slept well all week. Nice flat screen tv with quite a few channels. I did wish you could order shore tours on the tv and check your room bill on it like on Carnival, though. That was the only thing about Carnival I liked better.
We thought the food was excellent, both in the main dining rooms and at the buffet. I had read various reviews saying the food wasn't good, but I don't know what they were talking about. The only thing we weren't crazy about were the strip steaks in the main dining room. Their seafood selections are excellent, and the appetizers are wonderful. They had lovely selections at lunch too at the buffet especially deserts. Although at the center buffet area it can be hard to snag a table, just go back to the aft area and you will find one.
