I tried to make this as comprehensive as possible. Sorry if it is too long, I broke it down if there are only some areas you care about. For the record, for many of us (nearly all), this was our first cruise, and for all of us (I believe) it was certainly the first cruise using NCL. I gave this cruise a 4 star rating simply because nothing is perfect. That said, if we simply rated how much fun we had, we would have all given it 5 stars.

As most of you are probably doing now, about a month or two before we set sail, I made a point to read just about every review I could so I could step on board fully prepared. While I cannot say everything was perfect (what is?) we all left the cruise very satisfied and wanting to do it again. In fact we all recently booked another cruise on the same boat (different ports) for next January. The long and the short of it is this; most of the worst complaints you will read are either people who (1) had something horrible happen to them that is not likely to happen to you (lost luggage, mistake in the bill that was not properly fixed, etc.), (2) are a frequent cruiser and are comparing this ship against every other ship out there, already having a favorite in mind, or (3) are just too picky. I took the time to read their reviews to possibly prepare myself for some “let downs” and after taking the cruise properly prepared, here is how I would review the ship and what recommendations I would make to you who are about to cruise:

The Cabin was nice. See the review in general for more information if interested.

Did not take an "excursion," but did spend an extra night in South Beach before the cruise began (got into town Friday). If you are looking for something to do in South Beach and want to learn something, I would highly recommend doing a walking tour with Art Deco Walks. The tours are small groups, very affordable, not overly taxing (if you don't like walking), but you get to see and appreciate a lot of the architecture on the island. It was fun.

Truthfully I didn't care much for the rest of South Beach as it is extremely expensive and there is not much to do besides lay on a beach and buy expensive drinks. I would rather wait the day and drink on the ship for "free."
